What does your mobility business do?
We are a provider of mobility equipment solutions with a showroom in Osborne Park, Perth. Established in 2001, our aim is to provide solutions for people with mobility issues to improve their quality of life. Our range of stylishly designed products is built for comfort, durability and reliability but more importantly they help our clients to regain their independence and freedom. Our products include Australian-made adjustable beds, lift and recline chairs, scooters, powerchairs, electric wheelchairs, platform lifts and Stairlifts.

What’s one of your favorite products?
Bluesky Healthcare is the local distributor of world-renowned Stannah Stairlifts in Australia; the safe, reliable and painless alternative to climbing the stairs. Stannah applies a simple design that provides easy operation from the seat-mounted joystick or remote control. All stair lifts are fully installed and maintained by our trained technicians.

Can you give us a brief history of your business and the growth it has experienced so far?
Bluesky Healthcare was born out of the frustration of its two owners, as they both worked for organizations that were focused on mass-producing mobility equipment where one size fits all.
Due to the difficulties in finding innovative locally made mobility products, a small product showroom was soon opened designing and manufacturing custom-built adjustable beds and lift chairs in North Perth.
Bluesky Healthcare is committed to quality and its adjustable beds and lift chairs are strongly supported by the Healthcare profession and the everyday users alike. From humble beginnings as a small 2 man operation the business quickly grew as word spread that a locally made, custom-built alternative is available. Partnerships with leading equipment suppliers such as Heartway (scooters), Stannah (stairlifts) and Lehner (platform lifts) soon followed.
How is Unleashed helping your business grow?
Unleashed is helping us in keeping track of our mobility solutions inventory and our day-to-day activities, hence allowing us to manage our funds better and make smarter decisions in terms of purchase and stock control.
What is a particular problem that Unleashed has solved?
Our previous software struggled with the manufacturing side of the business and it was very labor intensive to maintain. Unleashed has assisted the business in managing our warehouse more accurately thanks to the Bill of Materials and assembly functions.
Is there an interesting customer story you could share with our readers?
A customer recently posted this to our Facebook page:
“I wanted to post this to show you what my mother had to endure when we went shopping one day when there were no wheelchair trolleys left. Mum needed to do shopping one afternoon at Woolies – the only option was this trolley with a seat like a toddler’s chair, everyone stared and laughed and it was very embarrassing for us both. That’s when I came home, rang Bluesky Healthcare, and ordered the electric small portable scooter. The best money I ever spent. No more humiliation for either of us!”
Is there something you are particularly excited for your business right now?
We have recently employed a healthcare professional with an abundance of experience as an Occupational Therapist. We hope that this way we can further improve our services, both to customers and other healthcare professionals.
